Welcome to our Don’t Panic weekly blog. Our regular round-up of new staff, new events and new challenges. We’ve been as busy as ever perfecting some of the most prestigious events of the year, here’s a sneak peek of everything that’s coming up, and what you may have missed.

What a frantic few weeks, to say the least! It seems like we always have at least one member of the team travelling far and wide these days, but recently the team had some respite from being on the move and stayed a little closer to home, hosting 2 massively successful events (on the same night!) in our hometown, Manchester.

We have lots of events coming up in the next month, with some of the team heading further afield for the European Search Awards which are being held in Prague next week. There’s been quite the buzz around this year’s awards, with a race to see who could grab tickets the quickest.

Last week we broadcast the Don’t Panic monthly newsletter, a monthly round-up of all the big news in our events collective, and a few words from our Managing Director, Nicky Wake.

This Week’s Big News

We’ve had some massive event launches and exciting announcements over the past few weeks, here’s whats in store for you in the upcoming months:

The UK Agency Awards is now in its fourth year, following its successful launch in 2015. The awards are open to all creative, design, digital, marketing, advertising, media and public relations agencies that are based in the UK, celebrating exceptional agencies, campaigns and talent in 27 categories. The UK Social Media Communications Awards, previously known in their abbreviated form as the ‘some comms awards’, celebrate the very best in UK social media communications and reward the individuals, companies and organisations who are using online platforms to communicate in fresh and innovative way. The awards will celebrate exceptional agencies, campaigns and talent in 24 categories.

The UK Search Awards have been celebrating the expertise, talent and achievements of the search industry for over half a decade and are regarded as the premiere celebration of SEO, PPC and content marketing in the UK. The 2018 awards, hosted by Katherine Ryan, will feature 33 categories celebrating the very best in campaigns, software and the teams and individuals behind them.

Claire Lomas In 2012 Claire walked 26.2 miles through the streets of London in a robotic suit – this week she completed the Manchester Marathon in just 9 days, beating her personal record by 8 days. This week the team flew to Fort Lauderdale to the massively successful inaugural Interactive Marketing Awards. The night was dedicated to celebrating and rewarded excellence in Interactive Marketing campaigns, agencies and in-house teams from across North America. We have had 2 new additions to our bureau recently, and we can’t wait for you to meet them.

Claire Lomas Since her freak accident in the highest level of eventing, Claire has found new sports including skiing, set up a business, written a book and organised fundraising events. Her life has been turned around, but it did have one similarity, she was busy again. Claire speaks publicly about the split second that changed her life, and candidly describes the darkest times alongside the gradual process of turning her situation around, and surprisingly how the best five days of her life have all been after her devastating injury. Richard Charles Lawrence From the height of conflict with the Taliban to studying a masters degree in Philosophy. Richard has gone from successfully solving complex problems on the battlefield to a qualified hypnotherapist, an award-winning salesman in the pharmaceutical industry and a chief instructor of the martial art ‘Keysi’. This week’s award announcements are as follows…

The UK Biddable Media Awards are rapidly approaching, last Friday, the shortlist was announced. Congratulations to everyone who made it onto the shortlist – we look forward to seeing you on the night!

The awards celebrate and reward the expertise, talent and achievements of the UK Biddable Media industry. We’d like to thank everyone who entered, and our judges who had the difficult task of deciding on the list of finalists. You can view the full short list here.

After a difficult deliberation day from our judges earlier in the week, Friday also saw the full shortlist for the PRMoment awards announced. We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who entered, and massive congratulations to the shortlist!
